Tamie Kranis has been a Board Member of the Alan T Brown Foundation since January 2011. Tamie became involved with the Foundation after seeking advice from Fran Brown following her husband’s sheared aorta, similar to an aortic aneurism, on March 16, 2009. As a result of this incident, Michael sustained a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Michael waged a courageous and noble battle having lived through the initial injuries that he suffered but was unable to overcome many setbacks and passed away on November 28, 2010.
Tamie’s allegiance and commitment to ATBF has been unwavering. She has spearheaded fundraisers in Michael’s memory and in 2011 finished the ING NYC Marathon for Team “Running for Those Who Can’t”. Tamie is a Co-Chair of the Foundation’s 2012 Golf Tournament. She is a licensed CPA and Owner of Creative Business Alternatives in Merrick, New York.
