ATBF Research Update
The Alan T Brown Foundation
SCI Research Award
ATBF
mourns the passing of Michael Kranis.
His spirit and fortitude in the face of
adversity was inspiring.
He will always be remembered.
On
March 16, 2009, Michael Kranis had
a sheared aorta which is similar to an aortic
aneurysm. As a result of this incident,
Michael sustained a spinal cord injury which
left him paralyzed from the chest down.
For
two years, the Alan T Brown Foundation assisted
the Kranis Family through a special
fund that was established in his name to help with the expenses related to Michael's hospitalization, rehabilitation, uncovered medical and therapeutic costs and more.
Michael passed away on November 28, 2010. Donations in Michael's memory can be made
to the Alan T Brown Foundation. Acknowledgement will be given to his wife Tamie
and his children, Genna, Lauren and Ian.
