ATBF Board Secures Laptop Donation
for the James Brown Foundation for
Spinal Cord Injury Prevention Lectures

On July 7th, the Alan T Brown Foundation received a grant proposal from James Brown, the Executive Director of the James Brown Youth Empowerment Organization (JBYEO), a non-profit organization created in 2001 whose mission is to prevent and educate children and young adults in essential life skills to produce positive contributing citizens.

James is a C4 quadriplegic who was injured in 1992 as a result of a gunshot wound. After rehabilitation, James decided to turn a bad decision into a positive experience. He is now a motivational speaker and addresses schools, churches and community organizations about violence prevention. His organization is dedicated to creating programs that educate youth in making positive contributions and decisions within their communities.

The Board of Directors of ATBF carefully reviewed James' proposal and was pleased to secure a donated a laptop for his upcoming presentations.

The Alan T Brown Foundation is hopeful that James and his organization will continue to assist in spinal cord injury prevention.
