Getting around a town or city, if you are able bodied, at times can be very challenging. For somebody with a disability, such as a spinal cord injury, transportation can become overwhelming and very difficult. Public transportation might be accessible, but many times when somebody wants to go to a certain destination a bus or a train might not be able to leave an individual close to their desired location. It is important to check out the “round trip” routes, many only provide accessibility for one end of a trip.
If you know someone who is invited to a lecture, a wedding, a business meeting etc. and you are going and have a car or a van, a nice deed would be to offer them transportation. When you arrive at the destination make sure to help them and guide them to the accessible entrance.
