The Alan T Brown Foundation
SCI Research Award
Andrei Krassioukov, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, and Adjunct Professor in the School of Rehabilitation at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, was the recipient of the inaugural Alan T Brown Award through the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA). Dr. Krassioukov is also Research Director in the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UBC and on staff at the GH Strong Rehabilitation Center SCI Program.
The Alan T Brown Foundation supports this award to an individual whose work is designed to reduce the impact of secondary complications that can occur after an injury. Dr. Krassioukov was nominated for this award because of his dedication to defining the mechanisms of autonomic dysfunctions after injury in order to improve clinical outcomes, and consequently quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injury.
