Volunteering For ATBF
By: Denise Smith
I have been volunteering with the Alan T Brown Foundation (ATBF) for about 5 years. I have volunteered at the Annual Golf Tournaments, Family Fun Day and the Junior Board Gala Events. ATBF has become a big part of my life and has taught me so much. When I first started volunteering I was not really sure what I had to do or how much work went into the events. After my first year volunteering I realized the huge extent of hard work and effort that is put into an event, and I wanted to help with as much as I could.
I am so glad I have the opportunity to volunteer with such amazing people, especially Fran and Benjy Brown, Co-Founders. Working with these dedicated people makes me want to volunteer more and more every year. If you ever have the chance to volunteer with ATBF, I would take it! You learn so much about a great organization and even more about yourself.
Denise Smith lives in Long Island and works at NSLIJ Forest Hills. She would like to be a nurse administrator and maintains a strong relationship with ATBF.
